Although he did clarify that he meant phonetically.
Nice attempt at a save, Rush, but can you say: “Reeeeeaching for it?”

Don’t vote Bush.
Don’t vote Kerry.
Vote Cobb. Break the hold that the Republicans and Democrats have on us. Stranglehold, that is.

eBay is a wonderful resource. I’ve been a member for five or so years, and I’ve bought a variety of items from it - Lego, toys, books, replica swords, tin beer signs, even a “Baltimore St.” road-sign from Ohio.
Lately, my eBay purchases are usually DVDs. So many people buy DVDs, watch ‘em once, then try to sell them for what they paid for them. Well, that usually doesn’t happen, since there is such a large market for new DVDs, when you want to pawn off your collection, a lot of people are trying to get rid of theirs, too, and the pickings are many.
Recently eBay wins include Highlander: The Series Season IV, Das Boot, The Gathering Storm and Kill Bill vol. 1.
I big on Kill Bill about three weeks ago. And I waited. And waited. And it never arrived. I checked the seller’s feedback, and numerous negative entries had been registered - the complaints were similar: “No response to e-mail, no product.” Soon, he became “not a registered user” and I knew I was screwed. Including shipping, I paid just under $17 for the movie. I would have been better off going to Best Buy and shelling out the extra few bucks, but alas …
… on the other hand, I won “The Gathering Storm” for .99 cents, whereas Best Buy wants $20 for it …
… ANYwaaaaay … luckily, I paid for “Kill Bill” with PayPal. I filed a complaint with PayPal, where I stated my case. I received notification from PayPal today - they’d attempted to take the money back from the seller’s PayPal account, but there were insufficient funds, and “PayPal does not consider this a satisfactory resolution of this complaint. We have taken action against this seller’s account until the complaint has been resolved.”
I’ve been burned, but I shaln’t give up eBay. Of all of the dozens of auctions I’ve won, this is the only time I’ve been burned, and eBay and PayPal have certainly tried their best to assist.
So, in short, if you’re a scammer on eBay named armengas13, I hope you make things right with your buyers.
Talk about a worthy cause! In his own words, Russell Wattenberg, “[gives] away books in the Baltimore area for six years. I take books that I find, or that people give me and I give them to people who need or want them. I hate seeing good books that people can use in boxes in people’s basements or collecting dust on shelves; especially when there are people who don’t have the money to buy a new book or ready access to used books.”
The Baltimore Book Thing.
Bless you guys. I think I’m going to head down next week, and expand my library. I haven’t been doing nearly enough reading lately.
