Never Lend Stuff

Filed under: Uncategorized — MalSnay @ 3:21 pm

Several months ago, I lent a friend of mine my DVDs of “Firefly”, a short lived but fun sci-fi show from Joss Whedon.

Well, I never expected him to keep them this long. That’s all fine and good, but there does come a time when property needs to be returned. In this case, I have a growing hankering to re-watch the episodes. Herein lies the problem: all of my attempts to persuade my friend to return the DVD have failed.

So far, we’ve set up four different times to meet. I’ve invited him over to watch a movie, y’know, whatever. “Yeah, bring back Firefly, I’ve really got an urge to watch it again.” Well, each time, *something* comes up at the last minute and, darnit, he just can’t make it.

Y’know what? I don’t care what comes up. Tell them, “Sorry, really got to return these”, and get them back to me. I really feel like you’re trying to just horde my discs and hope I eventually forget about ‘em, and it is REALLY starting to piss me off, especially since I have to clear out room in my extremely busy schedule to meet up with you, and then you just decide to never show up.

Ass.

The VP Debate - hey, not a monkey!

Like, honestly, the GOP could’ve sent a monkey in a suit last week in place of George W. Bush, and it wouldn’t have made much of a difference. At least Dick Cheney showed up ready for battle, and while much of the debate (I was listening to it on a car radio on a crappy AM station where I kept losing reception) seemed to be an attack, and then a brace for a counter-strike, and thinking it was very close, I think Edwards won - which was kind of surprising, because after last week, I figured Cheney would’ve been out for the kill to avenge Bush’s humiliation.
