Gasoline prices are so high right now that something like 40% of Americans’ are having drasted changes in their lifestyles. Nothing major, you understand, just a few million families deciding whether they get to buy a gallon of mayonnaise or a gallon of gasoline.

Currently, a gallon of gasoline is going for approximately the price of a gallon of gold. (Maybe that’s why oil is called “black gold.”)

As todays’ Unspun(tm) article points out, oil companies are, nevertheless, posting the largest profits in history. And that’s not just “the largest profits in history for oil companies.” It’s “the largest profits in history” — period. For any company.
