This, which I came upon totally by accident, gives me a good feel for rowhome living. Hoorah! (Still dreaming for two floors of bedroom space … oh, the possibilities!)

Hey - you rowhome owners … how much do your utilities work out to be?

no, not gone yet

Ok, so I’m not offline after all - I just hooked up the old crappy HP, and the first thing I learned was: if I considered my Dell infested with spyware? Wow. This thing here is all “Hi spyware, please make your home with me!”

I also learned that Internet Explorer does not like to load my webpage - I have to hit refresh to get anything but the header to show up, and nothing I do gets my links and stuff on the sidebar to appear. It’s very frustrating and makes me want to break things!

I left yesterday at 5pm to get to the Blogger Happy Hour. With 83 being backed to hell - and mapquest’s complete inability to recognize detours beforehand - I did not get to Club Charles until close to 6:30, which was moderately frustrating since I’d planned on getting in early.

Since I don’t have my own, organized, blog bookmarks on this computer, you’re going to have to find the links yourself - if you’re not viewing this in IE, just look to your right under “Charm City Bloggers” and you shouldn’t have any trouble finding folks’ blogs.

Broadsheet, Anonymous Coworker, KMart, Amanda of Crablogs, Messy Hair Girl, A Fool’s Fate, Jason J. Thomas and JWER were all at the club before me. Zenchick(!!!) showed up a few minutes later, followed in-not-neccessarily-this-order by TextureSlut, Cara(ustar) of Team Moose & Squirrel, Upside Down Hippo and eebmore. I actually got to have conversations with people (as opposed to March at which I got to the Happy Hour so late, I’d already missed a lot of folks, and others were leaving right as I got there), which generally at some point involved pestering them about the sizes of their rowhomes - and more importantly - their parking pads. (If I forgot someone, please forgive me!!!)

(Oh - in case anyone was wondering - I found my way home without any difficulty, I actually wound up taking Charles St. north past Hopkins and then detoured into Hampden where I picked up 83 at Coldspring. And, yes, I was fine to drive - I had two guinesses when I got to the club, then only drank ice water. I think the bartender - I still say he looked like Jude Law - thought I wasn’t going to tip him, but I did! $10 on a $17 tab. Would you expect anything less?).

I found out from MHG that there is - get this - a Star Wars Risk board game. That is, honestly, the only reason I plugged in this computer — because dammit, I can’t live without seeing what a STar Wars Risk board game looks like — no land battles in Asia! woot! — and right now I can’t afford to run to Toy’s R Us and buy it (next weekend, maybe).
