irritated

The reason I bombed my apartment today was that I was able to arrange for a co-worker –Sketchy — to cover my shift tomorrow afternoon, and thus have ample time to clean my apartment. True, I was expecting a fine layer of … something … to cover every available surface, and that isn’t the case.

However, Sketchy just called me with bad news: his car isn’t going to be ready in time for tomorrow’s afternoon shift, so I’m stuck working after all. This is frustrating for a variety of reasons, but my irritation is tempered because I’m fairly certain at least some of this is out of Sketchy’s control. I’m going to try to call a couple people to see if they can work, but I think I’ll be in for a long night of cleaning, vaccuuming, and doing laundry.

After I work tonight, that is.

$600worthofcoke.JPG

Gary was sick Friday and it was up to James to place the coke order. Gary’s instructions were “ten of each”, and what he meant was ten cases each of 2liter, 20oz, and canned sodas, and among those ten coke, diet coke, and sprite. James missunderstood Gary to mean ten cases each of coke, diet coke, and sprite in all three varieties.

In any case, now you know what six-hundred bucks worth of Coca-Cola products look like.

operation ventilate

My first stop this morning was the animal hospital where I dropped the cats off for an overnight stay and a bath … each. In the lobby, I stupidly left the cages facing a big, smiling, friendly collie. Tippy, who don’t like big dogs, backed herself to the end of the cage, then apparently decided the best defense was a strong offense, and charged the door of the cage, bringing the entire thing forward with enough force to pop the collie right in the nose. Even the collie’s owner laughed.

Returned home, set off the bombs, walked the dog, went to work. Came home half expecting to find the apartment building leveled and a lot of police and fire fighters around. There were none, building stood. Walked in was surprised to not be choking. Opened all windows, turned on the fans strategically placed around the apartment and began operation ventilate.
