I spent $400 on new oxygen sensors yesterday. They don’t get installed until Monday, but I wanted to pay for them yesterday so I could qualify for the higher rebate (you can’t add invoices together). I’ve needed to replace the front O2 sensor for nearly a year and a half - my “Check Engine” light has been on that long, but in the vast expanse of things, it just wasn’t that big a deal. I’m glad I went ahead and set the wheels in motion to get them replaced, though, as notification arrived in the mail today that I have until mid-October to get my car in for its next emissions test.
For the record — a car won’t pass an emissions test with a bad O2 sensor. That tripped me up the first time I tried to take the emissions test, so pulled the battery plug which reset the O2 sensor, then took the car through emissions before the O2 sensor was able to trigger the “check engine” light again.
Woot!
Yeah, I know, “This blog is dead, long live this blog” but Wordpress will soon be here and enabling TypeKey registration stopped the spammers dead in their tracks (as well as probably everyone who actually had a legitimate comment).
Wordpress, here we comin’!
