So, on the two checks I put in the mailbox yesterday — one, my rent; the second, paying off a gas-purchase made on credit card — did I date the checks 2006?

I’m pretty sure I dated them both January 1st, 2005.

I’m sure they’ll clear the bank, but, daaaamn Snay, you stooooooopid.

I don’t quite know what was “up” with last night, but I’ll say this — working New Year’s Eve night was a waste of time. It was very slow and there were few deliveries, very dissapointing after the way Greg had built up Saturday nights — I was expecting to leave with a hundred bucks.

I worked the day at Gary’s shop, thankfully with Gary absent. Only so much of the man a person can take before you’re ready to throw yourself under an 18-wheeler. It was steady, and while I didn’t take a lot of deliveries, I made some pretty nice tips — one could in fact say, correctly, that the daytime tippers made up for the evening tippers. That’s not entirely correct, although it would be correct to say the evening tippers sucked total ass.

So, back to working at the franchise Saturday night:

What really sucked, though, beyond the low amount of deliveries (seven) was the amounts of the tips. The people who always stiffed continued to stiff, but even the people who usually tip well got into the grinch spirit — I made barely $15 (half of that mileage), which sucks because on a holiday — particularly one where a lot of fuckers are drinking — I shoulda cleared $40 in tips on seven runs, easy (which was roughly my average in tips and runs during the day … $40 on seven).

Well, there’s always today — New Years Day, particularly this year (what with football & a lot of hungover motherfuckers) should be busy. Yesterday sucked. Hopefully, today will make up for it.

New Years = Not An Excuse to Randomly Shoot!

Y’know, being that I live in the ‘burbs, in a complex of apartment complexes, I’m used to the assholes honking their car horns at Midnight on New Year’s.

But the last few years I’ve lived here, I’ve never heard as many gunshots as I have in the last few minutes. Some moron shitbird on Sunnylake is apparently letting fly, and hopefully he’s firing into the lake, and not randomly into the air where, y’know, the bullets might come down and kill someone.

What a shithead.
