New Year’s Resolutions: First Quarterly Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — MalSnay @ 1:02 am

Resolution the First, which states: I resolve to lose weight. This Resolution is going well. I have lost, as of last Tuesday, twenty-three pounds. Ka-ching!

Resolution the Second, which states: I resolve to get a Job. This Resolution is stale-mating. Seems a rather shitty resume may have resulted in my torpedoeing myself on at least one occasion. Many thanks to these two for assistance in fine tuning that document.

Resolution the Third, which states: I resolve to go back to school. This Resolution is well under way. Several weeks ago, I recieved a letter from Towson University informing me that my readmission has been granted. Monday the 10th of this month I have an appointment with an advisor at which point I hope to nail down my fall schedule (which might be all I need to finish my degree).

Resolution the Fourth, which states: “I (also) resolve to keep my apartment in at least a somewhat tidy state of existance.” This Resolution has been a complete and total failure.

  1. Rather than worrying about your resume, perhaps you should worry about the type of job you’d like to have. So, while we are on the subject, what job would you like to have?

  2. A well paying ($40k-$50k+) office job, with duties potentially requiring trouble-shooting, editing, writing, customer mollification, and local travel, requiring me to wear a shirt and tie.

  3. I’m not sure you will make it into the 40K range fresh from out of the pizza business but you could easily shoot for $30-40K, why don’t you try some job search sites and see what the availability is for this type of employment? Technical writer, account manager, customer support all have this type of requirement and there are several companies in Sparks, Cockeysville and HV that hire these types of people. Check out AAI; Johnson, Mirmiran and Thompson; Becton Dickinson just for starters.
