Comcast

I love how my Comcast bill is due on the 19th and they don’t bother to get it in my mailbox before the 13th. Oh, the check is already written, the envelope is already sealed and stamped, and it’s already in a USPS mailbox ready to go out first thing in the morning (or whenever the box gets sorted), but I do wish Comcast’d make a stronger effort to get people their bills on time.

Stupid Is As …

So we’ve got this new kid who we call “Advanced Placement” for reasons which will become clear.

Saturday night wasn’t very busy. It was steady, and I was fortunate that over the course of my six and a half-hour shift last night to take a lot of doubles and triples and make over one-hundred smackers over the course of the evening. Part of the reason I was able to make over one-hundred smackers is thanks to Advanced Placement.

I was just about to head out the door on a double into Summer Hill. Advanced Placement walked in and Steve routed him to a double waaay up north. As he looked at the screen, a look of wonder suddenly hit Advanced Placement, and he turned to Steve and asked, “Was I supposed to drop off that M. F. Road?”

“Uh … yeah.”

“Whoops!” And then Advanced Placement raced out to his truck and drove away.

Steve had watched him leave and his mouth was agape. He shook his head slowly in this “I can’t believe this just happened” way. “Dude, he called me to ask where G.B. Road was, and I told him, ‘it’s where I told you it was before you left the store’…”

“Guess from now on you should remind him to take his other deliveries, too, when he calls for directions.”

“Yeah.”

In any case, thanks to Advanced Placement’s forgetting to take a delivery his first time out, I was able to take my double and beat him back to the store for the two north runs.

Fellows over at Dickheadgate ordered five extra large pizzas for a party. Their total was $52.50. Their total with tip was $52.50.

Contrast this with the fellows at Generous Rich People Lane. Pizzas, wings, sodas, they were having a good time. Total was $47.25, total with tip was $60. SCORE!

Guess which of these two houses, the next time they order, is getting fantastic service?

(Hint: It ain’t Dickheadgate.)
