The best Blogger Happy Hour since, I don’t know, April’s. (It was also the first Blogger Happy Hour since April, so that might have something to do with it).
In terms of the semi-regular organization of Baltimore Blogger Happy Hours, I consider myself a Second Generation. I think we’ve moved into the Third Generation sometime over the summer, with new Happy Hour attendees including Johnny Dollar and his lovely wife, the not-nearly-as-angry-as-I-thought-she’d-be Anger Hangover, Ancestral Pile’s Jamaila, You Are Not Your iPod’s Lori, and Thoughts, Wants, Prayers and People’s Kate Hooks.
Regular attendees included myself (duh), Zenchick, Broadsheet, Double Dogged’s Frank, Baltimore Mick’s Jason J. Thomas, The Common Wombat and his pinching banshee-laughing wife, Epiphany, Anonymous Coworker sans both ACWW and Mokiejovie and Fruit Loops and Porn.
I don’t think I missed anyone. (Did I?)
There were some folks I expected to show who didn’t, but that was their choice and they missed a hell of a fun time. (And they’re funny-smelling losers anyway). I got lost in all the conversation and drinking, but I do remember clearly the thought: the men’s room is for men.
Ricky Bobby: This kinda reminds me of that Highlander movie.
Terry Cheveaux: What? I never saw that.
Ricky Bobby: It was nominated for an academy award.
Terry Cheveaux: For what?
Ricky Bobby: Best movie made ever.
Preach it, Ricky Bobby!
This was my first blog post. Pathetic, huh? And what an original title, too.
Two years ago today I began blogging here at MalnurturedSnay dot Net. This was my first attempt at blogging, and I’m a little surprised — looking back — to see that I kept with it. I’m a very shy, quiet person in real life, and I’ve been grateful for the friendships and other opportunities I’ve been able to enjoy through the Baltimore-and-extended blogging community. I’m very excited to see where I’ll be when I sit down a year from now to write a similarly titled post, “I’ve Been Doing This For Three Years And People Still Read Me. Huh.”
Completely coincidentally, tonight is the first Baltimore Blogger Happy Hour in probably close to six months, hosted by Anonymous Coworker and Zenchick.
I will be there, and even though I’m driving, I will let you buy me a beer to celebrate my second blogiversary. (Aren’t I awesome?!)
