and i even made it to class tonight

Having finished dinner with the folks, I realized that I had a chance to get back to Towson in time for my 7pm night class. And I did … with five minutes to spare. 695′s inner loop was fucked, so instead of going north from Rt. 70 (my folks live in Columbia), I jumped the other way and ran 95 through the city, hooked back up with 695, and made it into the parking garage with five minutes to spare.

I.

Hate.

Rush.

Hour.

Traffic.

Battlestar Galactica – Webisode One

To promote the third-season (premiering in October), Sci-Fi is presenting “webisodes” — short stories about the characters taking place between the second and third seasons. The first was posted and then, immediately, hijacked over to YouTube. Enjoy!

Three Quick Points

“Mom’s fine” but I was still expecting her to be in a wheelchair or something when I opened the door to my parents’ house. Nope, she’s up and about — her heart-beats stabilized just after midnight and she’s been home since the early afternoon. (Thank goodness for my parents’ wireless connection, because their computer blows).

Buying a laptop is one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. I remarked last week that I noticed more laptops in the classroom than when I was last on campus — which is to say, the last time I was on campus, laptops were verbotten in classrooms. Sitting on the cold floor of Linthicum’s second floor today, working on my laptop, I noticed that of the students waiting to enter the class, half had laptops. Today was the first day I’d brought mine, and I left it in my bag during classes, but I think it’s something I’ll be bringing more and more.

I’m not so happy with my Tuesday night prof. He’s great about responding to my e-mails, but when I asked if I could bring anything to document tonight’s absence as excused, he replied that he’d gotten the writing assignement I’d attached, but failed to elaborate on my request — even just to say, “Nope” (which would’ve been okay). He’s a bit of a geek … but he rides a motorcycle!
Not today, probably. Took forever to get down to Columbia, and I left straight from Towson.
