I’m a bad Battlestar Galactica fan. I spent Friday night watching the episode at Molly’s Pub in Remington, at the Frak! party, with bartender/BSG fan Chris, who, I think, organized the event. I could hear the episode (if I stood right by the tv), and I could see the tv, but drinking as much beer as I did, I instantly forgot everything I heard and saw. (I stayed through the episode’s repeat to make sure I was sober before driving home. It reruns tomorrow night … I’ll catch it then, sober).
So, here’s what I do remember:
1. Wasn’t Cally running down the hill into the trees when the guns started shooting? ‘cuz in Exodus 1, it looked like she was running on ground level with the execution.
2. Is that Sgt. Hadrian in charge of the Marine detachment? I couldn’t tell.
3. Cheap way out of the executions. Bah. Isn’t the chick who waited for Tyrol to knock Cally down before firing the same girl who was stranded on Kobol after “Kobol’s Last Gleaming”?
4. Wait. If Duck was a member of the Collaborative Police, why didn’t he tell Tigh & Tyrol who the other police were? Why doesn’t Tyrol know Jammer’s a police?
5. … Gaeta?
6. Did Sharon II get the keys for the various ships? Neato. She’s good at kneecapping. Boom shaka laka boom shaka laka.
7. I wonder how Capt. Kelly feels, being passed over? At the start of season 2, it was established he was next in line after Tigh, yet there he is on the CIC, taking orders from Karl Agathon, who he’d previously outranked. Interesting!
8. Tense scene with Racetrack and Kat. WHERE THE FRAK IS HOT DOG?!
9. Galactica’s going to war. Is it just me, or was Adama’s “pre-Cylon-asskicking” speech in part cribbed from a Winston Churchill speech? It seemed to have a Churchillian tone to it, but I couldn’t make it out much. Tomorrow night! I’ve been looking to see if someone Youtubed it …
… but I guess not.
10. I had more. I was drunk. I don’t remember it.
11. Oh, yeah. So much for my theory that Tyrol didn’t have a razor.
