Blogger Happy Hour Recap

Filed under: Uncategorized — MalSnay @ 11:30 pm

If you didn’t make it, even for a short while, you missed a great night. I can’t remember the last time a Blogger Happy Hour had this large a turn-out, which proves one very important point to future hosts or co-hosts of a Happy Hour, and a lesson I wished I’d learned in time for the last time I hosted, which is to say, “e-mail, G-chat, and otherwise harass everyone in the local blogger community until they truly believe that if they don’t show you might just show up on their front door step buck naked and armed with a .357.” (Doesn’t mean I actually would’ve done that …)

The roster of attendees (in no particular order):

Broadsheet
Double Dogged
A Doggy’s Life
BaltimoreMick’s Jason J. Thomas
American Geisha
Zenchick
Anonymous Coworker
Messy Hair Girl
Ancestral Pile
Cranky Mommy
Mommy Has A Headache
SumSumSummertime & Beau Mondy the Sea Monster
The Cynicism of Diogenes
Anger Hangover
Live from Bawlmer
Johnny Dollar
Happy Hour Co-Host Jennetic
JWER
Cosmic Shambles
Team Moose & Squirrel
Amanda, formerly of Crablogs, and needing to e-mail me a link who sent me a link to her new blog … !

Special Mention:

Blog Commenter – and avid Flikrer – Danielle, as well as Delaware blogger NPR Junky who made the trip down from that tiny little sliver on the eastern shore that pretends it is an actual state.

I did take some photos, but I’m a little too tuckered to post them right now. Plus, I need to e-mail folks and make sure it’s okay. So, if you remember me taking a photo of you and either don’t want or don’t care if I post your photo, please feel free to preemptively e-mail me. Otherwise, I’ll e-mail you for permission as I get around to photos in the next week or so.

NOTE: If I didn’t mention you – and you were there -, drop me an e-mail or a comment and I’ll update, I promise! I’d like to apologize in advance for forgetting about you. Honest.

  3. NPR Junky: it would have killed you to come over and say hi? (I take no responsibility as I was downing Miller Lites for dinner.) (yes that was meant to be read with Jewish-grandmother-guilt-tone)

  5. I am sick as a doggy. Sicker for having come. Stop nagging me on chat, or I’ll have to put you on Ignore.

  9. Thanks for throwing the party! Oh, and please don’t post any pics of me… Baltimore is too small and I would like my blogging to remain anon among the non-blogging world.

  14. Snay: Actually you can post any photos you have of me… provided you block out my face with one of those pixelated blurry thingies. If you can’t do that, send it to me and I will photoshop it for ya.

  18. I got there at 7:30, didn’t see anyone, was too embarassed to say in public, “Blogger” even though I asked broadsheet had I met her before, and left after two beers. Proceeded to have my night spoiled by an armed robbery a bit later.

  21. [...] One of the neat things about the local blogging community is that a lot of us like to get the drinky-drinky on together. So, that said, the last happy hour was back in November, and the next one is Wednesday the 24th at the Wharf Rat in Fell’s Point, say, 6pm? [...]
