I have, for years, been aware that there is a skeet shooting range on Dulaney Valley Road just above the Loch Raven Reservoir, but today was my first time actually going there, on a delivery. Many times on deliveries I’ve heard the distant crack of shotguns, but today I saw two groups of men trying to shoot down clay discs, and listened to the sharp loud retorts of over-and-under and side-by-side shotguns echo across the trees.
Anyway. I need to find out if the management of the skeet range allows walkons, or if I’d be better off taking my Baknai 12ga SXS to Continental Arms’ indoor range. Considering how loud those shotguns were in the open air, I’d be a bit afraid to fire one indoors — hearing protection or no.
