I got onto campus about 3:30pm. And I’m planning on closing Cook Library, particularly if I keep at the pace I’ve been. I’ve got my Chaucer paper due tomorrow, and I’m literally going to be burning the midnight oil to finish it on time. The Knight and the 14th Century Christian Warrior. I’ve narrowed it from that, talking a lot about chivalry. Did you know you can MLA Wikipedia? (Thank god for that!)
Anyway, the paper has to be 1600 words. Right now I’m at 1300. I can’t wait until this time tomorrow, because it’ll be behind me. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about this class, though: if I bomb this paper, I’m done with any chance of passing the class. I have to pass with at least a C for it to qualify for my major (which I need it to), or I’ll be dropping a class next semester to take “Shakespearean Tragedies” for the same requirement.
Two words here: Oh. Joy.
I’m on the second floor and its freezing. I think I’m going to move up to the main floor where it is almost always boiling hot. I need to write a conclusion, and expand on a few points. I’ve been using the Squire’s introduction in the General Prologue to illustrate the typical life a noble leads before becoming a knight. I also made a clever reference to the Black Knight in Monty Python’s Holy Grail that I think the prof’ll go for. When I asked if using humor was okay, he was a little iffy, but I make a larger point about chivalry, and, well, I think it’ll go over okay (at the very least, getting him to laugh early in the paper can’t hurt my grade).
So. Beef up points. Write conclusion. Do my sources. Go home, unjam expensive shitty printer, print. Staple. Done!
(So close I can taste my bed, which only means I’m pooped).
I didn’t bring a jacket with me. Just a long-sleeve mock-turtleneck and a t-shirt over it. It’s my fall/winter look. I’m thinking its kind of chilly outside now, and I’m going to have to walk from Cook to the Linthicum Garage. Loverly.
Alright. Break over. Back to typing.
Um.
Typing on my paper, I mean.
(I could use a drink).
UPDATE:
I finished right at midnight. Made some formatting changes, saved it, walking out saw a dude from my class, talked to him: he was just starting! I get the feeling he won’t be in class today.
