A Virginia congressman has taken the Roy Moore route and gone for national headlines by bitching about Keith Ellison — he’s the Muslim elected to Congress from Minnesota. It just goes to show you, when you don’t actually have any good ideas, just start talking shit and get yourself on the national news media.
In it, Goode wrote, “When I raise my hand to take the oath on Swearing In Day, I will have the Bible in my other hand. I do not subscribe to using the Quran in any way.
Well, see, this makes perfect sense to me. I mean, Goode is a Christian. Why would he swear in on something other than a Bible? For that matter, is anyone asking him to swear in on a Quran? Of course not.
“The Muslim representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don’t wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Quran.
Yes, he was elected by the voters of Minnesota, and if the voters of Minnesota were worried about him being a Muslim, they probably wouldn’t have elected him.
In the end, it is hard to read the article and not come away with the impression that Congressman Goode likes neither Muslims nor freedom of religion.
