iPhone

Filed under: Uncategorized — MalSnay @ 11:38 pm

I was talking with Danielle over Gchat a few days ago and she remarked something to the effect of “Once you go Mac, you never go back.” I actually started on a Mac, then made the migration to PCs. I had a Macintosh Performa 630CD back in high school and, yes, it was the mac-daddy machine (in 1996), but I don’t regret my migration to the PC world with a Hewlett Packard about a year after moving to Towson. The HP’s CPU is on the top shelf of my closet, and I’m onto Dells now, but despite my abandonment of Apple as a computer consumer, there was still part of me that thrilled to see the company find such crossover success with the iPod and like.

iphone

Anyway, so the big computerish news this week is the announcement of the iPhone. I think the neatest thing about the iPhone is how it has a customizable interface. The inner Star Trek geek screamed, “This was how the PADDs in Star Trek: TNG were supposed to work!”

Now we just need warp drive …

From Chickie:

Your Personality Is Like Acid

A bit wacky, you’re very difficult to predict.

And the next, you’re on a bad trip to your own personal hell!

Cancelling AT&T

Filed under: Uncategorized — MalSnay @ 2:17 pm

I tried to log-in to AT&T.com to pay my out-standing bill before calling in to cancel my service. Hmm. Not so hot: “This Number Does Not Exist.” And yet my phone is ringing and I’m getting bills in the mail. Eh?

Forget Snakes on a Plane …

… worry about Scorpions on a Plane!

Where is Sammy L. when you need him? “I AM SO FUCKING SICK AND TIRED OF ALL THESE MOTHERFUCKING SCORPIONS ON THIS MOTHERFUCKING AIRPLANE!”

Shakespeare in Pennsylvannia

Filed under: Uncategorized — MalSnay @ 1:15 pm

Not really.

I knew that there was a Lancaster, Pennsylvania and a York, Pennsylvania. I didn’t know that Lancaster used to have a baseball team called the Red Roses, or that York had (has?) one called the White Roses. Seems some people just can’t let their War of the Roses go …

What does this have to do with Shakespeare? Richard II details the origins of the feud between the House of York and Lancaster.

Being An Asshole and Getting Away With It

If you’re ever in Timonium and you stop to eat at the Nautilus Diner on York Road, know this: if the food is great, the service will be shitty. Conversely, if the service is great, the food is going to blow.

So Geisha and I went there for dinner last night after I got out of class and she got out of work. Because service was so shitty, we spent a lot of time playing with the juke-box and eventually made three music selections: Neil Diamond’s America (because it rocks), Bruce Springsteen’s Thunder Road, and some song by Billy Joel about an Italian restaraunt. I think if I’m in the Nautilus in July I’m going to bring enough quarters to play their entire selection of Christmas music, because, sometimes?, I feel the need to be an asshole (especially when the odds are in my favor of not being called on it).
