The Women of Troy

Filed under: Uncategorized — MalSnay @ 11:00 pm

For my ItCM class, I have to attend a performance of Troy Women: Adapted from Euripides which is being put on by Towson’s theater department over the next two weeks. “The story of the fallen royalty of Troy is offset and illuminated by the chorus of five distinct women whose voices become increasingly unified as the tragedy mounts.” I’m actually excited to see the play, and not just because it’ll finally give me an excuse to get into the new Center for the Arts building — last time I was inside, it was still being remodled.

Anyway, there are several performances, but I’m going to try to get to the showing next Thursday night (I don’t know if I can get tickets in advance, if not Thursday, I’ll go the following Tuesday). Anyone wanna come?

Star Trek IV: The Voyage For New Trivia

Following up on Jon’s and Adam’s Trivia posts, presenting #4 in the series. To balance out their heavy leaning on TOS, I’ve gotten a bit more modern. If you’re geeky enough, give it a try:

Were You Born Stupid?

If you ever have the fucking temerity to ask me “What’s the difference?” when I ask you if you want that order for carryout or delivery, please don’t call back and demand to know why you were hung up on. I’ll tell you right now: I hung up on you because you’re a fucking stupid retard, and I don’t care when you start giving me this bullshit “you owe me your respect” routine, I have a hard time respecting idiotic fucking stupid retards like you (it helps when we’re busy as shit and even Gary is cussing people out).

Police Chasin’

So, for once, there was a high-speed police chase not happening in LA. Some douchebag in a stolen car endangered a bunch of people, high-tailed it for PG County, detoured into the District, then eventually got himself wrecked and caught.

Car chases are exciting. On the silver screen. And that’s where they belong. Unless the criminal operator of the motor vehicle has a hostage, I think police need to choose not to continue the pursuit.

Dictator of Maryland

Filed under: Uncategorized — MalSnay @ 7:30 am

The first I heard about the big accident on the Beltway earlier in the week was when I showed up to my HEL class and Dr. D explained that traffic was snarled and that some students were running late (big test, Tuesday). Anyway, so I came to find out that some retarded dingleberry decided to stop his car in the middle of the Beltway, forcing an 18-wheeler to come thiiiiis close to killing a whole bunch of people. I have no idea how anyone didn’t die, and thank goodness for that.

Hopefully, the State of Maryland has already seen fit to call William Rush a “fucking idiot” and chop his driver’s license up into tiny little pieces before shoving it up his nose.

A lot of people are calling for yearly driving tests once people have reached a certain age. I don’t know that this is a realistic idea — does the staffing exist for this? — but I think it is a good one. And I don’t think focusing on older drivers only should be the concern: there are a ton of shitty young drivers out there.

If I was Dictator of Maryland, here’s what I’d do:

1. Kill bad drivers.
2. Bury bad drivers.

End of problem.
