Towerlight

The Towerlight is Towson University’s campus paper, and its editor-in-chief, Brian Stelter, is also a blogger (and he gets a paycheck for it!*). Anyway, I got an e-mail from a former professor today that my blog got a mention in his opinion column this week. I wasn’t on campus today, but I’ll be picking up a copy tomorrow. Thank you, Brian!

The Cinematic Cultural Divide

Filed under: Uncategorized — MalSnay @ 8:00 am

There was a great article by Susan Reimer in yesterday’s Baltimore Sun about the “Cinematic Cultural Divide” between children and their parents.

And when my husband answered my son’s suggestion that he sell the old sailboat under the deck — the boat that had never been wet except with rain in all the years of his young life — with the single word, “Rosebud,” I wished that my son had understood.

Also, when I shout “Khaaaaan!” I don’t want to have to explain it to anyone.

So, the question is, what movies do you consider it essential that your children be familiar with?
