Want To See The Original “Heroes” Pilot?

It’ll be on the upcoming DVD release, apparently. I’m planning on Netflixing the whole set — those Sci-Fi marathons are nice, but often inconveniently scheduled. There’s more information here.

From What The Mechanics Say

… I’m burning oil, and I’ll be lucky if my car makes it through the summer.

My intitial reaction would be “they want me to buy a new car” but I’m not at the dealership. When the semester’s over, I’ll take it up to Ed’s in Hereford and see if he agrees. I really think I can get another couple of years and another hundred thousand miles out of her.

The Real Slim Sha … erm, Snay

A couple of years ago, I read an interview with someone involved with Batman. I can’t remember who it was, or if the interview was about Batman Begins, or the comic books, or what. When discussing the character of Bruce Wayne, the person being interviewed stated his opinion that Bruce Wayne had two alternate personalities — Batman and Bruce, both of whom were characters for the real individual to interact with the world. The “real” Bruce, the interviewee said, was somewhere between the two.

Anyhoo, while randomly blog-surfing, I came across this post from a blogger named The Mad Momma. My brain couldn’t help but start thinking as I read her post. The relevant passage is here:

The last few talks with reporters as well as the documentary maker made me realise that I am two very different people. The blogger and the real life me. And when I replied to them, I had to stop and think about my answers because some of them came from my social self, the other from the blogging me.

This topic was already on my mind. A few days ago, I actually posted one of those stupid ‘things about me’ bulletins on MySpace, and one of the responses I got echoed something I’d heard before: “Outgoing on the internet, shy in person.” Well, generally what I hear is something along the lines of “You’re nothing like you are on your blog/in real life.”

I think this is one of those odd questions for a person to answer about themselves. I don’t neccessarily see the differences in how I come across on the blog as to how I am in real-life; and then of course with real-life it depends on who I’m around. I’m different at work then I am with friends; I’m different with friends then I am at school. I’m different among friends depending on which friends I’m out with (and of course how much I’ve had to drink).

How closely does my blog mirror me? I wish I could say, y’know, just look back objectively, and tell, but I can’t. Am I jerk? A nice guy?

So here’s my question to you: if you had to rate yourself, how closely does your personality which appears through your blog reflect on you? Feel free to respond to this on your own blogs, this is a question I’ve been wondering a great deal about lately.
