I Don’t Feel Particularly Bad For John Corzine

Filed under: Uncategorized — MalSnay @ 11:59 pm

John Corzine, as you may have heard, was involved in a traffic accident last week. As the post title says, I don’t particularly feel bad for John Corzine — after all, he wasn’t buckled up and the vehicle he was in was being driven at nearly thirty miles over the speed limit.

You’ve obviously got brains, Governor Corzine – after all, you’re the governor of the Garden State. So what the hell were you thinking not buckling up? You’re a politician — not wearing your seat-belt isn’t going to get you more votes, and, now, you’ll be lucky to ever be in a position to have people voting for you again. And with all of that, think of what you’ve put your family through.

Buckle the fuck up. You don’t have to be the pizza guy to know that.

(Yeah, I know, “Un-Current Event Night” here…)

  1. since birth my children have been buckled and seen us buckle up. I never laughed so hard when My mil tried to drive my four yearold THREE HOUSES down to my house, they were headed out and wanted to just drop him off along the way, they sat him in the back and didnt buckle him. he screamed and carried on so loudly they had to stop before they got all the way out of the driveway to get him in his carseat.

    freaking funny.

but that brings up another point. Why do some parents say they have a hard time buckling up their kids, that they don’t like it? the kids should never have known what it feels like to ride unfettered in the first place. Sigh. parents these days

  2. I won’t even drive across the street unless I buckle up. I make sure all passengers in my car are buckled up. I tell them the car won’t run unless your are buckled up. When I was in the Fire Dept, I have seen what happens to people that don’t buckle up.

  3. Yes, what a sad statement that he didn’t have enough sense to buckle up. Dumbass.

  4. Our mayor in Indianapolis has had something like four or five car accidents since he has been in office. He has always worn his seatbelt. It is law here, even though the law has only been recently made. (About 7 years, I would guess) It was a big deal when we moved here. Most of the state seemed opposed to seatbelt law.

In California, seatbelts have been law since I was about 8 years old. (I am in my 30′s now, so a long, long time ago!) I remember a time of not wearing my seatbelt, but for the most part, I remember growing up having to wear my seatbelt. It is second nature to me. I even put it on when I back my car out of the garage onto the driveway.

So, is it not a law where he is or something?

  7. What was he thinking?

“I’m a rich, important politician, and the laws I pass don’t apply to me.”

  8. That’s what I thought, too, Marc. I said to my husband, “Hmm. I guess he just found out that the laws of physics don’t care who you are!” Still, that’s a crappy way to have to learn that lesson

  10. The kicker is: a STATE TROOPER was driving the SUV. At 91 MPH. And with his passenger unbuckled. Nice.
