The Baltimore Sun’s headline: Driver in U.S. illegally, records say/Mexican accused of drunken driving in UM student’s death

But for me, the issue isn’t really whether he was here legally or illegally. His status as an illegal alien had nothing to do with the fact that Never L. Navarro-Montoya got piss fucking drunk, got behind the wheel of his car, and killed a sophmore at the University of Maryland College Park. Drinking and driving isn’t an immigration problem, it’s a cultural problem. There are kids who sit next to me in class who brag about drinking and driving, and hopefully, if there’s any silver lining of the cloud of Matt Watson’s death, it’s that some of these kids, who are close to his age, will, as it is so appropriately put, “wake up and stop smelling the stupid.”

Drink. Drink a lot. Don’t drink flaming shots, and don’t get behind the wheel of a car drunk. And if you do, and you hit someone, I hope you’re the one who dies, because the guy or gal you hit didn’t make the poor decision to drive inebriated, and they sure as fuck don’t deserve to pay the price for it.

5. Speaking of my high school graduation … our ceremony was held at Merriweather Post Pavilion. I walked across a stage a lot of really great musicians have played on. How cool? Very!

6. I think this song is great. This one, too.

7. I subject my cats to abusive hugs and don’t change the litter box nearly as often as I should.

8. I’d love to drive fast and recklessly, but don’t because I’d hate to hurt or injure someone; people who do drive fast and recklessly without any regard for the people they might hurt really piss me off.

9. Now that I’m less than two weeks from graduating college, I’m really scared I’ll have to grow up. I keep reminding myself I’ve been living on my own for eight years, but I don’t think it has really settled in.

10. I know what I want to be when I grow up, I just don’t agree with myself about when I should actually grow up.
