You’re looking at $35.00 in quarters and dimes, courtesy of my last delivery last night, the old bat waaaaay out in the boonies who doesn’t seem capable of having a pizza delivered without inviting that poor pizza guy inside to meet the dogs and cat, to meet the husband, to meet the children, and who, no matter how many times I tell her my name (“What’s your name?” “What’s your name, again?” “Did you tell me your name?” “Who are you?”), can never seem to remember … (even though her husband, and her son, both have the same one I do.)
Thankfully, she’s at the very least a good tipper ($7 on a $27-some order). The seven dollars in dimes are going to go to CoinStar, but the $28 in quarters? Hell, that’s enough quarters to get me through two months worth of laundry.

Last weekend, I saw a couple unrolling coins and emptying them into the CoinStar machine. I would have questioned why they were doing that as it charges a fee and the coins were neatly rolled, but then I remembered that I was in Alabama.

That was one tip? Where’d she keep it, in a sock for self defense?
Glad to hear your laundry is covered for a while, thats alot of change.

See. There is a silver lining (quarters) to everything. Perhaps the old bat doesn’t get many visitors way out there?

I like rolling coins due to the fact that I like activities that focus on repetitive functions. Anyway, I rolled my grandfather’s coin collection last week that he has been saving for decades. Turns out, most of the coins were only worth face value, but the money will come in handy paying the BGE bill.

Even though they’re surely quite useful, carrying all those quarters would annoy the holy hell out of me!

Is that a roll of dimes in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

I hope you at least got all the states in your quarters…and man, with that lot you could get seriously pro at X-Men Vs Streetfighter.

If you get an Amazon giftcard from the Coinstar machine, you don’t have to pay the fee.
