I’m glad I’m not a Baltimore Ravens fan. Well, I guess I am, but I’m one of those lukewarm fans who doesn’t know much about football except that the Ravens are supposed to rock, the Steelers suck, and no one can beat the New England Patriots.
This didn’t stop me from trying to cheer up customers I saw last night in Ravens logowear: “Hey, who knows, maybe the Ravens’ll win tonight and it’ll be one impressive thing they’ve done this season.”
And they came so close, too. I was actually watching the second half of the game after getting home. I know essentially two things about football (and those things are “jack” and “shit”) but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the game, and sitting forward on my couch, hands clasping, as those final seconds ticked down and the Patriots squeezed out a victory.
I don’t know why I was surprised. From everything I’ve read and heard about the Baltimore Ravens, they can’t even win a game they’re winning. Maybe they should just stay home next Sunday instead of embarassing their fans further.
