The most striking reminder of today’s anniversary was the uniformed and armed Metro Transit Officer on the Red Line train I raced onto just ahead of the doors closing at 6:-something this morning. Otherwise, aside from the somberness of the office — punctuated by the construction noises coming from the far wall as an expansion is readied — it could be just any other day. What a long, crazy road it’s been the last seven years: not just for the nation, but for myself as well. Anyway. I’ve been keeping busy, which is why I’ve been posting little, and I haven’t moderated comments in forever. I’ll get around to upkeep, and writing, regularly, soon, I hope. Until then, oh, what a day.
