Here's the good news: if a retailer is going to go belly-up, it usually happens after March, which is when most of their fiscal years wrap up. But who knows; perhaps they'll locate a niche that can't be filled by the other Big Box store or by Amazon.

For what it's worth, when I was at Record World, Christmas Eve was a lot of fun to work simply because we were so busy. We'd do at least a typical week's worth of business between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The entire staff worked in the store and frankly I don't recall anyone complaining. We were exhausted at the end but in good moods. The 26th was a nightmare, though, because it was all returns.

Keep at it buddy. You have come a long way, your blog can attest to your dedication and perseverance. Keep in mind that what matters is how you feel about yourself and staying engaged in your life.

One way or another something is gonna change around the new year, and then you will have lots of options open to ya. Remember, you have a degree, a nice office job, and loads of experience. Besides the office job, those are things that I appreciate about ya. ^_^
