Ditching work early on Thursday with a coworker: our tentative plan is to leave by 2, and spend the afternoon at the National Gallery of Art (both wings, hopefully). Following, we might jaunt up to the National Portrait Gallery, with dinner at Matchstick. Sadly enough, this is not a date (for one thing, she’s much too young for moi, and for another thing, she’s got a boyfriend). Alas. Still, it’s more fun than my other plans for the evening: soaking my feet in hot salt water, doing laundry, and watching crap on TV.
