Many many years ago, when I was in high school, I worked at a Blockbuster Video in Columbia, Md. While there, a movie came out called “Lone Star.” It had (barely) a shelf on the new release wall, but an article in Newsweek had drawn my interest to it, and instead of waiting the 30-days before I could get it for free, I shelled out my hard earned money and rented it. It was a great movie! A little bit western, a little bit mystery, incredibly wonderful dialogue, and so many diverse plots running through the movie.
I recently became aware of a new movie by Lone Star’s director, John Sayles. Many of Lone Star’s cast – Chris Cooper, Kris Kristofferson – are returning for the film, a political thriller about a candidate running for governor (clearly modeled on a certain POTUS) whose campaign somehow becomes linked to a corpse in a lake.
Once I figure out how to put links in here … (help me, Tim!) Well, I’ll do it better. For now, just see below.
